Meet The Revitalizing Smiles Team!

Dedicated, Experienced, And Friendly.

Carmen was born in Romania. She graduated from high school in 1991 in Romania and worked as an elementary school teacher. She then came to the United States, and in 2003 she began working with Dr. Horblitt. She attended Valley Medical School in Trumbull to become a dental assistant, graduating in 2005. In 2007, she passed the required dental assistant exams and became a certified dental assistant. She is also certified in CPR.

As a dental assistant, Carmen’s goal is to be understanding and compassionate. She strives to help our patients and their families during treatment in our office, and she feels that the entire team is devoted to making sure the patients achieve their individual dental health goals. Working with Dr. Horblitt and everyone on his team is very gratifying for Carmen.

Donald has been a lab technician for over 25 years. According to Donald, the difference between our office and other offices is that the work here is far superior. The standard of the lab work produced here surpasses any other lab Donald has worked in. He’s worked in Bridgeport, Norwalk, and New York. Here, the lab does work that other labs don’t, such as head and neck prosthesis. He has learned many things working with Dr. Horblitt, and the other technicians that work in the lab have helped him greatly.

Donald has a strong faith in God and great parents who have taught him the value and importance of having a great work ethic. He is proud to say he has worked for Dr. Horblitt for over ten years, and he’s never missed a day of work. He looks forward to going to work every day. He gets the chance to do great things and help many people here.

Alda was born in Portugal. She came to the United States in 1966 at the age of eight, and she graduated from high school and later married. She has three children and a grandson. She started her career working at Park City Hospital, working there for 19 years. Her job was making food in the kitchen and delivering it to patients. She also worked as a diet technician, visiting patients in their rooms and instructing them on their calorie intake. Because she’s trilingual, she also helped doctors with translation for patients who spoke Portuguese and Spanish. Later, she worked for an endodontist, chairside assisting during dental procedures for ten years.

Alda joined Dr. Horblitt in 2001. She feels happiest when she’s making a difference in someone’s life. She enjoys making patients feel like they are respected and cared for properly. As the front desk receptionist, she greets patients, schedules appointments, and listens to the praises and complaints. It gives her pleasure to know that she’s done her best in trying to make patients feel comfortable, and she’s proud to be a part of this wonderful team.

Mirela was born in 1968, and while her parents tried to shield her from the harsh realities of life in Romania, she dreamed of coming to America. After high school, she studied clothes alteration and design at technical school. She married her husband Dumitru, and in December of 1987 she had her first son, George. In 1989, Dumitru left to begin building a better life for them all in America, and less than a month later she had their second son, Mihai. In 1991, shortly after Romania won independence from a communist dictatorship, she brought herself and her two toddlers to meet up with her husband in America. When asked why she did it, she said, “Nothing matters to me more than my family.”

From the moment she got to America, she worked hard, spending her days as a seamstress at the Burlington Coat Factory and her nights attending English classes, becoming fluent in English. When she became fluent, her job opporunities widened, and she went to work for Vitramon in the quality control department. Having been a helpful person her entire life, she grew tired of factory work and looked for something that would let her make a difference. That’s why she went to school to become a certified dental assistant. She started classes in 1996, and since 1997 she’s been a full-time dental assistant for Dr. Horblitt. Together, they have helped countless patients obtain the care they needed, always ensuring that they received the best service possible. Nothing makes her happier than knowing that over the years, she’s been able to help our patients regain their smiles.

Sarah Visina, formerly known as Sarah Wisniewski, received her BFA in sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She focused mainly on mold making and lost wax casting in many different materials, including silicone. These college-attained skills were easily ported to the medical field when she had the great opportunity to study maxillofacial prosthetics and treat patients at James J. Peters VA Medical Center in conjunction with cases at Columbia University Medical Center under the supervision of Eric Asher, Dr. Candice Zemnick, and Dr. John Evans. Once Sarah completed the program, she was afforded the chance to work in the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. There, Sarah worked closely with Marjory Golden, Dr. Joseph Randazzo, and Dr. Joseph Huryn on extraoral and intraoral prosthetics for two years. Now, Sarah is excited to open the door to her carrier as a freelancing Anaplastoligist, working with facilities such as Gary E. Horblitt, DDS. Sarah strives to be detail-oriented and meticulous when it comes to fabricating all of her patients’ prosthetic, including, but not limited to, nasal, orbital, auricular, and somatic deficits prosthetics. Due to Sarah’s experiences from her credentials, she has achieved an unprecedented high patient satisfaction rate. She is kind, receptive, and devotedly committed to the needs of all her patient.

Dr. Ana

Dr. Ana Gonzalez graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2014.  After completing a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, she and her husband returned to New England to be closer to family and friends.  Although she began her education in marine biology at the University of Miami, she graduated with an Art History and Art Studio major in 2008. She believes her interest in dentistry resulted from the culmination of her love for science and art. She has truly enjoyed being a general dentist, working with patients to achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. Knowing that for the majority of patients, the dental experience can be stressful and emotional, her goal is not only to provide quality dentistry but to make the entire experience as enjoyable as possible with an emphasis on listening intently to patient’s concerns and reservations.  She is an active participant in the ADA and CSDA. When not practicing dentistry, she’s spending time with her husband, going on adventures and playing with her puppy and kitty, Cora and Mowgli.  She is a Florida native who is enjoying the lobster rolls and changes in wardrobe which New England has to offer.
